چکیده
This research investigates the potential use of pyrite cinder (PC) as an efficient Fenton-like catalyst for removal reactive azo dye Reactive Red 120 (RR120) from aqueous solutions. The characterization its PC structure and composition confirmed great to act catalytic iron source in a heterogeneous Fenton system. Dye optimization was performed terms dosage (0.4–8 g/L), H2O2 concentration (2–25 mM), pH value (2–4.6), initial (50–200 mg/L), mixing time. highest decolorization efficiency (92%) achieved after reaction time 480 min under following conditions: RR120 = 50 mg/L, 4 g/L, 10 mM, 3. After decolorization, extensive analysis generated effluent regarding metal leaching, mineralization, toxicity, degradation product formation. leaching indicated necessity increase order remove settled hydroxides. mineralization satisfactory, reaching 85% 62% COD TOC removal, respectively. respirometry measurements bioluminescence tests detoxification treated solution. absorption spectra GC/MS changes molecular form destruction bond, with simpler aromatic aliphatic intermediates study provides effective method removing polluted water by employing waste tailings alternative catalysts, while also using secondary resource.

Oxidation of commercial reactive azo dye aqueous solutions by the photo-Fenton and Fenton-like processes
This paper evaluates the degradation of two azo reactive dyes, C.I. Reactive Yellow 84 (RY84) and C.I. Reactive Red 120 (RR120) by photo-Fenton and Fenton-like oxidation. All experiments were performed on a laboratory scale set-up. The effects of different reaction parameters such as initial pH, contact time, effect of light and hydrogen peroxide concentrations on the oxidation of the dye aqueo...
متن کاملDegradation of Anthraquinone Dye Reactive Blue 4 in Pyrite Ash Catalyzed Fenton Reaction
Pyrite ash (PA) is created by burning pyrite in the chemical production of sulphuric acid. The high concentration of iron oxide, mostly hematite, present in pyrite ash, gives the basis for its application as a source of catalytic iron in a modified Fenton process for anthraquinone dye reactive blue 4 (RB4) degradation. The effect of various operating variables such as catalyst and oxidant conce...
